Early 1900 ‘s the Solitude mountain resort was fill of silver miner’s but today they have skier’s all over. Of course, the crowd is not too much and it is quite pleasant.

The solitude Mountain Resort was developed by Robert Barrett in 1957 as at that time he was not a member of ski area in Alta and was no body’s guest so he was denied rest room usage. He was a uranium miner and he made his fortune from that.

At present it is owned by a different family, it has 1200 acres of ski area with 63 runs for beginners, intermediate and experts. They boast of eight lifts which includes seven chair lifts and one surface lift. The top most point of mountain is 10000 feet and a vertical drop of about 2000 feet.

The lodgings are excellent and they have five such places for guests and group activities. The resort has a very good view and it looks like someone has painted it, and therefore people who go there wonder how the inspiration of this came from!
