If you are in the USA during winter and are on your way to North Dakota. The best place to head for skiing is Frost Fire Mountain Ski Resort. This Resort is situated near Walhalla which is in North Dakota. The resort has two chair lifts and one surface lift. They have 25 acres of land available and ten trails are for beginners, intermediates and experts. The top elevation is about 1300 feet and a vertical drop of 300 feet approx.

Although the resort is not big it has something for everyone. It is great for family vacations. The kids can learn how to ski here. The lessons for kids for snowboarding and skiing are available at reasonable rates. The Equipments required for the beginners are available with the rental shop in the area. There are many motels to choose from for accommodations. The snowboarders have special terrain park available in the area.

The choice of restaurants is excellent here. The resort also boasts of antique shops which you can visit in your spare time. The sites in the Resort and the surrounding area are very good and many have historical background. Walhalla is the second oldest town in the state of North Dakota.

If you are in Utah, during the winters and are looking for ski vacations, head towards Solitude Mountain Resort. It has everything a skier looks for. Early 1900 ‘s the Solitude mountain resort was fill of silver miner’s but today they have skier’s all over. Of course, the crowd is not too much and it is quite pleasant.

The solitude Mountain Resort was developed by Robert Barrett in 1957 as at that time he was not a member of ski area in Alta and was no body’s guest so he was denied rest room usage. He was a uranium miner and he made his fortune from that.

At present it is owned by a different family, it has 1200 acres of ski area with 63 runs for beginners, intermediate and experts. They boast of eight lifts which includes seven chair lifts and one surface lift. The top most point of mountain is 10000 feet and a vertical drop of about 2000 feet.

The lodgings are excellent and they have five such places for guests and group activities. The resort has a very good view and it looks like someone has painted it, and therefore people who go there wonder how the inspiration of this came from!
